Established on 15th April 2011, Nanda Devi Institute of Adventure Sports and Outdoor Education (NDI) is engaged in designing and conducting courses in the area of adventure sports and outdoor education. The institute provides training to various educational institutions and organizations including State Disaster Response Force, Uttarakhand Police.
Nanda Devi Institute of Adventure Sports and Outdoor Education (NDI) is certified by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) Uttarkashi to organize courses in Ski and Snow Craft based Search & Rescue in snow bound areas and training in rock climbing and mountaineering.

Nanda Devi Institute offers capsule courses in basic/advance mountaineering and bird watching for the general candidates. The Nanda Devi Institute is also recognized by the Disaster Mitigation and Management Center, Uttarakhand Government as a resource agency to conduct training programs in Search & Rescue.
Nanda Devi Institute conducts training from its Kuflon, Uttarkashi and Auli based centers.All the courses are conducted under the supervision of renowned mountaineers and ex army veterans from the High Altitude Warfare School of the Indian Army at Gulmurg and ex instructors from NIM, dully vetted by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi. The Institute has been technically evaluated and duly certified by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering to conduct training programs in the area of Search and Rescue in snow bound areas and capsule courses in basic and advance mountaineering.
