Uttarakhand, often referred to as the "Land of Gods," transforms into a winter wonderland during the snowfall season. With its picturesque landscapes, snow-clad peaks, and serene environment, the state attracts travelers from far and wide. Snowfall here typically occurs between December and February, turning some popular destinations of Uttarakhand into magical retreats.
Some of the best places to witness snowfall in Uttarakhand include Auli, known for its skiing slopes, and Mussoorie, often called the “Queen of Hills.” Other stunning spots like Chopta, Chakrata, Kanatal, Dhanaulti, and Nainital and many more places in Uttarakhand also experience snow, offering a perfect setting for winter escapades and unforgettable memories.
Uttarakhand receives the second snowfall of the season. There was heavy snowfall in the higher reaches of Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi and Tehri.
Whereas Chakrata and Mussoorie of Dehradun district also received second snowfall of the season. Due to this, there is severe cold due to cold wave running from the mountains to the plains.
