General FAQs

Should I need to carry Diamox for Borasu Pass trek?

Borasu Pass is a difficult high altitude trek and not advised for beginners. But if you have done a few high altitude treks and understand how AMS works then you'd know that gradual acclimatization is better than having Diamox. However, you should definitely keep it in your first aid kit. Ideally the course of diamox needs to be done from the base itself so that our body adjusts with it. If you feel the symptoms of AMS or Acute Mountain Sickness like headache, nausea, vomiting then do contact to your guide or trek leader first.

Did you have any suggestions of where to put the rest of our belongings while we hike?

What exactly is included in the equipment you provide? Are sleeping mats included? Pillow? Toilet paper? What is the comfort temperature of the sleeping bags? Are they 3-season sleeping bags or 2 or 5? What is the R-value for the sleeping mats?

Yes, we include all essential equipment needed for the trek like Tent, toilet tent, toilet paper, dining tent & stools are also included along with kitchen tent for staff.

Our sleeping bags can withstand around -10 to -12 degrees Celcius. During winter treks we provide it with a fleece liner. Our Mattresses are 8mm thick. We also provide gaiters and micro-spikes if the trek involves walking on snow.

I believe a walking stick is good to have, to spare our knees and gain balance. Should we go with Bamboo Stick or Trekking Pole?
