Department of Information & Public Relation, Uttarakhand (Suchna Evam Lok Sampark Vibhag) is a major deptt in the state working as an information bridge between Government and people.
The department has the responsibility to broadcast and aware the people about the various working done by government under different programmes, projects and schemes for the people.
One of the major trait of democracy is to citizen should be well aware of doing of elected government. This task of broadcasting various projects of citizen welfare to people through different mediums like Newspapers, Magazines, News Agencies, Akashwani, Doordarshan and Television channels. Apart from that, the department use medium of films, songs, exhibition, plays and various traditional ways to publicize the Policies, Commitments and Achievements of the government.
