Agriculture Department, Govt. of Uttarakhand is situated at Nanda ki Chauki, Prem Nagar, Dehradun. The main work of Department is to encourage Food & Nutritional Security in the state. The department provides various schemes, public friendly plans, soil testing, seeds & pesticides and information about machines for agriculture.
History of Uttarakhand Department of Agriculture
Present Department of Agriculture, Uttarakhand was originally established in 1875 at Uttar Pradesh. In the start, the work of Agriculture department was to collect the stats related to agriculture and establishment of Aadarsh farms. In 1880, it was attached to Record Department. Later on dated 01.12.1919 became an independent department after GOI Act 1919.When Uttarakhand became a separate state on 09 November 2000, the Uttarakhand Agriculture Department restructured on 02.08.2003.
