Animal Husbandry Department, Uttarakhand is working in the field of Livestock development in the state. It is creating new opportunities in Animal Husbandry with employment generation in livestock business.
The department also provides doorstep animal breeding facilities, veterinary services and production support to the livestock farmers. It is improving animal productivity and employment through its vast institutional network in the state.
Livestock in Uttarakhand
As per 2012 livestock census, the total population of livestock in the state is 96.64 lacs which includes Cattle, Poultry, Sheep, Goat etc. The last five year growth in livestock shows the increase in the production.
