Uttarakhand Board Class 12 examination may be held on the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) based format. A meeting chaired by Education Minister Arvind Pandey regarding UK Board Class 12 Exam have discussed on the option to conduct exam on MCQ based questions. Departmental officials told that this will reduce the time of examination. At the same time, the result will also be declared soon. The department minister said that a final decision will be taken regarding the Uttarakhand Board Class 12 examination soon.
In the meeting held in the Secretariat, a discussion was done for the conduct of Class 12 UK Board Exam either on traditional or MCQ based. It was informed in the meeting that currently 1385 centers have been set up for the examination. 500 examination centers will have to be increased to follow social distancing guideline. In the meeting, the Education Minister said that efforts will be made to allow all teachers to be given Covid vaccine before the examination. He said that 30000 teachers have not yet been vaccinated in the department. The examination will be conducted only after complete arrangements for vaccination and protection from Covid. He said that he will talk to the Chief Minister on this issue.
Only 1.5 Hrs need for MCQ based paper
Education Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram said that if the examination will done on the basis of MCQ, there would be one and a half hour paper instead of three. Apart from this, time will also be saved in result evaluation. A computerized result will be prepared, but it is also being considered that students of Uttarakhand Board should not be underestimated during higher education. Their level should not be considered weak.
Uttarakhand Board 12th Exam may be held in June
The Education Secretary said that in view of the situation of Covid in the state, a decision will be taken on when the examination will be held. The UK Board Class 12 examination schedule will be announced only after the opinion of Health Department is taken. He said that exams could be held in the last week of June. A final decision will be taken after status of Covid's situation in state.
Home Examination Centers will be made for UK Board Exam
All the examination centers will be home examination centers for Uttarakhand Board Calss 12th examination. Due to this, students will not have to go to schools in remote areas for examination. They will be able to take the exam in their own school.
CBSE board suggested not to take exam in July
Education Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram said that CBSE has been suggested not to conduct examinations in July. The board has been informed by the state that there is a risk of landslides due to rain in July. Children's life and property may be threatened due to rising water level of rivers and landslides. Depending on the condition of the Covid, examinations may be conducted in June or later in September.
