In view of the increasing cases of corona epidemic across the country, a big decision has been taken regarding the CBSE board examinations. The CBSE Class 10 board exams have been cancelled and the board exams of class 12 have been postponed for now. The Class 10th result will be prepared on the basis of the criteria prepared by the board. The CBSE 12th class examinations will be held later, the board will review the situation on 1 June. At least 15 days notice will be given before the start of the examinations. This information has been given by the Ministry of Education.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal said, "The board exams of class X to be held from May 4 to June 14 have been cancelled. The students of class 10 will be sent to the next class on the basis of internal evaluation. If any student is not satisfied with the evaluation, then he/she can take the exam if the situation become normal after Corona."
PM Modi had a high-level meeting with the Ministry of Education today in view of the rising demands for the cancellation or postpone of CBSE examinations. Only after the decision in this meeting, the Ministry of Education has announced to cancel and postpone the examinations. Earlier, several leaders including former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had demanded the cancellation of the CBSE exams in view of the growing threat of Corona virus infection.
