Kamleshwar Fair is held in Kamleshwar Mahadev Temple located on the banks of Alaknanda River in the historic town of Srinagar in Garhwal.

How is Kamleshwar Fair celebrated?

On this day, people visit Kamleshwar Temple throughout the day to worship Lord Kamleshwar. Along with religious ceremonies, people also engage in buying and selling of essential commodities.In the night, the ceremony of ‘khardip’ and ‘dipsadhna’ takes place. In this ceremony women willing to have children, carry lighted diyas in their palms for the entire night and shed them to flow in the Alaknanda River. It is believed that the firm belief and devotion of the devotees fulfils their wish to have a child.
