The department of Political Science is one of the oldest and biggest departments of the faculty of social sciences of the H.N.B. Garhwal University Srinagar as presently maximum numbers of students are studying Political Science in Undergraduate and Postgraduate classes.The Department of Political Science is a fully established Department with the necessary infrastructural facilities and the following faculty position. The faculty members have published many research papers and books in reputed journals and they also regularly participate in national and international seminars, workshops and conferences. The department has also been provided financial assistance by the UGC under the SAP –DRS I Level to conduct advance research in the field of Regional Development and Women Empowerment in the Garhwal Himalayas.

The department has introduced a one year Post Graduate Diploma Course on the Human Rights and Duties Education. More information about this diploma course could be collected from the department.
Duration of the Course:
One academic year full time regular course.
Eligibility:
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with 45% marks. Only those candidates who are graduates of the HNB Garhwal University or any other University or Institution recognized by the HNB Garhwal University would be eligible for admission.
Medium:
The medium of the examination and instruction will be both English and Hindi.
Admission:
Admission will be made on the basis of merit and interview. The candidates having less than 45 % marks in graduation will not be considered eligible for admission.
