Hidden Villages of Sankri Range

You must be wondering why to choose a Village Hiking Tour instead of already existing Har ki Doon, Ruinsara Tal & the most popular Kedarkantha Trek in G.B.Pant National Park. The simple answer is ‘experience’.

While Sankri Range is popular for high altitude expeditions and seasonal treks, it has also been a habitat for a lot of people who have given all their life to preserve and make a living in these far off western borderlands of Uttarakhand.

Not just the village, but their culture, tradition, wooden houses and temples have seen more than a couple of centuries. And while it is easy for us city-dwellers to sympathize or feel for their struggle, the locals are still living in harmony with nature. The rise in the hiking industry has given them exposure to the outer world and they now hope for the growth of their villages in whatever way possible.

Instead of staying in cramped space of a 3 men tent, you stay at warm cozy wooden houses with the families residing in the village. Apart from routine menu, you can also explore the local cuisine at the home-stay cooked by the elderlies.
