The museum gallery showcases holograph of the poems, text copies of his entire literary works in a library with all Hindi and English entertaining books by different authors. Here one will witness beautiful backdrop of hilly greenish landscapes.

Sumitranandan Pant Gallery - Literature Museum in Kausani

The museum gallery was built in Kausani to commemorate Sumitranandan Pant. There are manuscripts of poems, articles and awards display in glass boxes in the gallery. Sumitranandan Pant life story is much more interesting as well as its writings. He took birth on 20th May 1900 in a lap of Himalayan town of Kausani, but his mother died on his birth. Pained father gave the child away to a Gussain babaand a Shivas devotee. Poet was named as Gussain Dutt by his guardian.

About Sumitra Nandan Pant

In 1905, SumitraNandan Pant started his primary education with the Vernacular School in Kausani. After few year he abundant himself in different languages like Sanskrit, Persian and English. From his childhood he was inspired by the charming and greenish coverage environment of the Himalayas which leads him to culture artistic. Then for higher studies he went Varanasi and later onto Allahabad where he studied for 10 years, and at a same time he published poetry such as Vina and Pallav with a new name SumitraNandan Pant.

Later on in 1931, he visited his sibling Hari Dutt Pant at Lucknow where he became a close friend of the prince of the state of Kalakankar. He started to spent much time with Kalakankar editing a monthly periodical Rupabh (1938).

Some of the good literature by Sumitranandan Pant are Naari, Swachchand, Pallav (1926), Manasi, Vaani, Yug Path, Satyakaam, Anguthita, Gramya, Tarapath, Bharatmata Gramvasini, Kala Aur Budha Chand, Chinti, Chidambara, Veena (1927), Gunjan (1932), Uchchhavaas, Yugant, Granthi (1929), Lokayatan, Pallavini, MadhuJwala, MuktiYagnya.

He was also Awarded by Indian government with Gyanpith award, Nehru Peace Award (by Soviet Union), Sahitya Kala Academy (for Kala Aur Budhdha Chand), Padma Vibhushan.
