The pristine lake lies on the border of Uttarkashi and Tehri district of Garhwal and is situated a few km away from the quaint hamlet of Kalyani.
The lake is located on either side of the glacier which acts as the source of river Bhilangna. Bal Ganga River, a tributary of river Ganga flows nearby this lake.

Both private, as well as state-owned buses, operate from Haridwar at regular intervals. After that, a further 220 km drive will make you reach Bhatwari.
