There is a Sita Mata Temple in Phalswari-Kot Village of Pauri Garhwal. Recently, Uttarakhand Govt. has announced that they will promote and develop this region as Sita Mata Circuit as pilgrimage destination.
It is believed by locals that Sita Mata took "Bhoo-Samaadhi" at Phalswari Village and once there was a temple of Mata Sita as well. Every November "Mansaar Mela" is organized by Phalswari and Kot Village. Every year many people visit this fair.

The state government of Uttarakhand is planning to construct a temple dedicated to goddess Sita in the Phalswari village, where she is believed to have taken ‘bhoo samadhi’. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has made the announcement regarding the development of Sita Mata circuit in Pauri district of the state.
There is one more place which claims to be the place where Mata Sita took Samadhi. According to Indian mythology, Sitamarhi has got immense significance, because it was here that Lord Rama’s wife Maa Sitaji was abandoned, gave birth to Luv & Kush and descended into the lap of Mother Earth forever. The only existing Valmiki Ashram on the banks of the river Ganges is located here.
Sitamarhi thus carries deep religious values and significance and is considered a holy ‘Teerth’ like Prayagraj & Kashi. Today, here stands a magnificent and beautiful Shree Sita Samahit Temple visited by thousands of pilgrims everyday with deep faith and reverence.
