Situated in the hallway of Shiva Temple, Nanda Devi temple features a magnificent monument adorned with a stone ‘amalaka’ or crown, encircled by a wooden roof. The walls of the temple showcase intricate carvings done by the skillful artists of that period. The visitors can admire the peculiar stone carvings that emulate life-like time images and figurines.
Each year in the month of September on the Ashtami of Bhadra Shukla, the temple hosts a grand Nanda Devi Fair which is attended by a large number of people belonging to different places.
Since the weather is always pleasant in Almora, it can be visited all over the year. But if you want to see the natural grandeur then it is best advised to visit the temple between the months of March to June and from September to November.
