Manikaran is located 5 km away from Kasol, this lovely village offers a maze of small streets, lined with wooden houses and colourful facades. Manikaran Sahib in Kasol is a pilgrimage centre for both Hindus and Sikhs and the hot spring inside the Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara is considered auspicious. This is the place where Guru Nanak performed several miracles. You can feel the religious fervor all around and then sit down to fill langar. The food is cooked or boiled via the hot springs at the Gurdwara as the water is that hot.

Manikaran Sahib in Kasol

Manikaran Sahib is situated at 15 minutes distance from Kasol along the banks of river Parvati in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. Manikaran is also known as a famous pilgrimage place for both Sikhs as well as Hindus. There are many temples, Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib, and hot springs that attract pilgrims and tourists alike.

There are three hot springs where one can take a bath, one being inside the Gurudwara itself and the other two being privatized by the guesthouses. The water is hot enough to prepare food by directly placing the vessels and is served as a langar. The water in these springs contains sulphur which is capable of curing diseases. Different sections for men and women are made at the bathing place. 

Best time to visit Manikaran 

Manikaran is visited throughout the year because the weather remains pleasant in every season. Winters are cold and harsh, a lot of people like to visit Manikaran during the winter months as well. Many individuals prefer to visit during the summer season (April - June) when they do not feel like staying in to avoid the cold. Avoid monsoon to travel Manikaran because the place gets heavy rainfall.

Location & How to Reach Manikaran Sahib

Manikaran is just a few kilometers away from Kasol and local buses are easily available on the main road connecting these towns. You can also travel to Manikaran from Kullu or Manali since both these tourist destinations are very close to each other. Cabs can be hired to travel from one town to another.
