The sacred doors of Kedarnath Dham will reopen for devotees on May 2, 2025, at 7 AM, as announced by the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri.
The announcement ceremony, held at Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath, was attended by religious leaders, temple officials, and hundreds of devotees. The event featured traditional rituals, bhajan-kirtan, and prasad distribution, adding to the spiritual fervor.
As part of the sacred journey, Lord Bhairavnath will be worshipped on April 27, and on April 28, the Panchmukhi Doli of Baba Kedar will begin its journey from Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath, to Kedarnath Dham, as per the temple’s official announcement.
The date for the reopening of Kedarnath Dham was determined through traditional Panchang calculations by religious scholars and Vedpathis in the presence of Kedarnath Dham Rawal Bhimashankar Ling, Kedarnath MLA Asha Nautiyal, duty bearer Chandi Prasad Bhatt, BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal, and Panchgai Committee officials, along with hundreds of devotees.
