Send Enquiry for Tour PackagesLocated at 16 km from Ramnagar, Jhirna Gate or Khar Gate is the entry point to Jhirna Range. Visitors can enjoy nilgai, cheetal, sambhar in thier natural habitat and if lucky, then Tiger might be seen.
Tourist can stay for a night in Forest Rest House FRH Jhirna. Guide is compulsory for any Safari in Jhirna Range. Jeep and elephant safari are available at Jhirna. Pre-booking is recommended for a Safari in Jhirna Range. Bookings are to be done at Ramnagar office. Jhirna Zone is open for visitors all round the year. Only two safari are operated during a day in Jhirna zone.
Jeep Safari in Jhirna Can be done using the registered jeeps. Taking registered nature guides is mandatory on all wild excursions.

Jhirna Zone is situated at the southern edge of the Corbett Reserve Park. This zone offers some exclusive tiger and sloth bear sighting along with the beautiful spectacular view of the wildlife. The zone has numerous water stream which nourishes the wildlife and adding the natural ambiance of the zone. This big Chaur known as Laldhand Chaur which is the favorite place for the herbivores animals of the zone like chitals, deer, elephants and nilgai. The Jhirna zone has two forest rest house named as Dhela (FRH) and Jhirna (FRH).
Dhela (FRH)
Dhela forest rest house is situated in the buffer area of Corbett Tiger Reserve. It was established in 1991 and has a sprawling campus. The village of Dhela close to the FRH lends its name to it. This is the best place to stay in for bird watchers. It is situated at a distance of 18 km from Ramnagar, it has 2 room with double bed and a kitchen available.
Jhirna (FRH)
Jhirna forest rest house is located on the southern boundary of the Corbett Tiger Reserve and may be approached from the Dhela entry gate. The area has recovered really well and is a testimony of the rejuvenating power of nature. Vegetation here is drier and mostly shrub. It was a farming land till the villages (Dhara, Jhirna and Kothirau) were relocated in 1994 under Project Tiger. After the successful ecological recovery, the area is a favored ground of Wild animals now. It is situated at a distance of 25 km from Ramnagar, it has 2 room with double bed and a kitchen available.
The Jhirna Tourism Zone, however remains open for day safaris throughout the year, subject to road and weather conditions.
Jhirna Zone can be explore by Elephant safari and Jeep safari from Jhirna or Khar Gate (16 kms) from Ramnagar. Jhirna is well connected by road and visitors can book a Safari from Ramnagar office of Park authorities of Corbett National Park. Nearest rail connectivity is at Ramnagar Railway Station, 16 kms and airport at Pantnagar airport or Delhi IGI airport.
