Janjehli will soon be developed as the most-favoured eco-tourism destination in the country. Recently, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government is committed to developing Janjehli as one the best eco-tourism destinations in the country, as the said region has a massive scope of tourism because of its pristine settings, pleasant weather, and mesmerising scenic beauty.
While presiding over the closing ceremony of the Janjehli Tourism Festival 2019 in Mandi district, CM Jai Ram Thakur said that the festival was an effort to showcase the rich cultural diversity and natural beauty of this area.
He added that Himachal Pradesh has many destinations apart from Kullu, Shimla, Manali, and Dharamshala that need to be developed from a tourism point of view. Doing this will help share the burden of those places that are already bearing the brunt of over tourism, the minister mentioned.
As per the reports, while the state government is planning to develop Chanshal in Shimla district as a skiing and winter sports destination, Janjehli in Mandi district is set to become an eco-tourism spot, Pong Dam in Kangra district to turn into a water sports destination, and Bir-Billing in Kangra district will be turned into a paragliding spot.
