Kuari means "doorway" and Kuari Pass is a Himalayan high mountain pass situated in the Garhwal region. It is located on the south of the Tibetan border and on the western rim of the "Nanda Devi Sanctuary" Biosphere Reserve.
The trip to Kauri Pass can begin from Delhi, Dehradun or Haridwar but all routes must go from Rishikesh to Devprayag, then reaching Rudraprayag en-route Srinagar, and then from Karnaprayag and to Nandprayag.
