In the ethereal beauty of Garhwal Himalayas, lies the Kedarkantha Peak located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. This imperial peak lies close to Har ki Dun valley in Govind Wildlife Sanctuary.
For Kedarkantha Trek, one has to reach the quaint village of Sankri which is located 200 km from Dehradun. So, Dehradun, which is at a distance of 248 kms from Delhi, is the rendezvous point. Once you reach Sankri, you can start your trek to Kedarkantha, mostly done next day morning.
Direct Bus to Sankri Village
From Dehradun, you can get direct buses to Sankri from Bus Station near the Railway Station. The bus ply early morning from 7 am to 8 am and takes around 10 hours to reach Sankri.
Note: In case you missed early morning buses, then you can take Hanol bus which goes via Mussoorie and get down at Mori. From Mori you can shared and private taxis/bolero to reach Sankri. You can also take buses to Purola as well and then take taxi from there.
