The Hindus believe that a holy bath into the sacred water of the Ganga achieves "Moksha". During the battle for nectar between Lords and Demons, a few drops of nectar fell down on the Earth at four places. These sites are known as Haridwar, Allahabad, Nasik, and Ujjain.
Since then it is the belief of the Hindu followers that the 42 Day of the Kumbh Mela these rivers changed into Amrit. This is the place of the famous ghat on the banks of the Ganges in Haridwar.
The Har ki Pauri Ghat is also popular as Brahmakund. The followers don't forget to take a holy bath into the river. The Ghat is lighted up every evening at the time of Maha Arti. Morning and Evening aarti of this place is very famous among devotees. It is believed that it is a precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains.
Mythologically, the cow is known as "Kamadhenu". That fulfills the wishes of the desires. The people reach this site to grant forgiveness for the sin of cow killing for foods. These formal events were celebrated with the holy act of a donation of a cow. Ashes of Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Mahatma Gandhi were blown at this ghat. It is situated in the southern part of Subhash Ghat.
Peoples float the ashes of the dead persons in the sanctified water of Ganga at this Ghat. People first do the prayer and then they blow the ashes of their kin in the river. It is located in the south of the Ganga temple.
The Subhash Ghat is close to the Har ki Pauri. There is a voluntarily organized Sewa Samiti which provides helps to the pilgrims as a dispensary.
