The government of Uttarakhand has converted the George Everest house into a Cartography museum. Cartography refers to the study and practise of making maps. It involves collecting, evaluating, and processing information about a geographical area and representing it on a flat surface, usually a map/ chart, and graphically through 3D models and a globe.
Cartography is considered the art and science of producing or drawing maps because it involves the application of both scientific principles and artistic elements.

Sir George Everest lived in the house for 11 years. The George Everest House was built in 1832, It is located around 6 km from Mussoorie's Gandhi Chowk.
