Send Enquiry for Tour PackagesThe project was conceptualized in 2007-08 and was accorded the status of large revenue generating project (LRG). Yet, it failed to get all the forest clearances and was caught in red tape.
The 5.5-km-long ropeway project between Dehradun and Mussoorie is going to be the longest passenger aerial ropeway in the country.
The ropeway project on the Dehradun-Mussoorie route will have 10-seater diamond cabins. This is the first time with a capacity of 1300 Passengers-Per-Hour-Per-Direction have been planned.
Upon its completion, the journey between the two cities will be shortened to just 15 minutes. Currently, it takes between 1.5 to 2 hrs to traverse a 33 km distance between Dehradun and Mussoorie.
The project is being built by the Mussoorie Sky Car Company Pvt, a consortium led by FIL Industries and composed of SRM Engineering LLP along with the technology partner POMA SAS France.
