Starting tomorrow, a helicopter service will connect Dehradun to Uttarkashi, enhancing accessibility for tourists and pilgrims visiting the region. This new service is expected to cut travel time significantly and provide a convenient option for visitors to reach popular destinations in Uttarkashi district.

Following the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, a new 42 km bypass is set to connect Asharodi to Mussoorie. This highway, approved by the Ministry of Environment, will relieve congestion in Dehradun and provide a smoother route for tourists from Delhi, Chandigarh, and Himachal. In its first phase, a four-lane road will link Asharodi to Jhajhra.

Jolly Grant Dehradun Airport recently expanded its flight routes to accommodate more tourists. This improvement is expected to ease access to nearby travel destinations such as Rishikesh, Mussoorie, and Char Dham pilgrimage sites.

According to the order issued by the District Magistrate, in view of the continuous heavy rainfall in the district and the warning issued by the Meteorological Department, an order has been issued to keep all government and private schools from class 1 to 12 closed in the district on Friday, September 13, 2024 .

The schedule of flights between Dehradun & Pithoragarh changes from today. Daily commercial flights from Pithoragarh started from 30 Jan 2024 with 18 seater plane operated by Flybig, flying from Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun to land at Naini Saini Aiport in Pithoragarh.

Direct flight cost between Dehradun and Pithoragarh : Approx. INR 4198/- to 6300/- (one sided) For Adults. Flight is operational only on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Over 200 Fish species can be seen at Underwater Fish Tunnel in Carnival of Dehradun. The carnival is organised by Apex World Internation at Race Course near Bannu School. This Sea World Carnival will showcase exotic fishes, including Angle Fish, Lionhead, Elephant Nose Fish, Parrot Fish, Arowana Fish and Albino Fish along with 200 more species in aquarium tunnels. The Sea World Carnival will start from 10 May 2024 and continues till 25 June 2024. The entry fee for Fish Tunnel in Dehradun will be INR 100 per person.

Dehradun to Ayodhya Flight
On the inaugural day on Wednesday, a flight will take off from Dehradun at 9.40 am and reach Ayodhya at 11.30 am. The flight from Ayodhya will take off at 12.15 pm and reach the Uttarakhand capital at 1.55 pm.

Dehradun to Amritsar Flight
The Dehradun-Amritsar flight will take off from Amritsar at 12.00 pm and reach Dehradun at 1.10 pm. The flight to Amritsar will take off from Dehradun at 1.35 pm and reach the Punjab city at 2.45 pm.

Dehradun to Varanasi Flight
The flight from Dehradun to Varanasi will take off from the Uttarakhand capital at 9.50 am and reach Pantnagar at 10.35 am. The flight from Pantnagar will take off at 11.15 am and land in Varanasi at 1.00 pm. The return flight from Varanasi will take off at 1.40 pm and reach Pantnagar at 3.25 pm. It will begin its journey to Dehradun from Pantnagar at 3.50 pm and arrive at 4.35 pm.

There is a chance of light snowfall in elevated areas of the state, surpassing an altitude of 2500 meters. According to the weather forecast released by the Centre, a yellow alert has been issued for adverse weather conditions in Dehradun, including Tehri, Pauri, Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, and Haridwar districts tomorrow, i.e., on 21 February 2024.
