Best time to visit

June to October is the best time to visit the Chandratal lake trek. At the beginning of the year, there are high chances of witness lots of snow. This snow will reduce considerably in August. In October there are high chances of snowfall.

Mythology about Chandratal Lake Trek

Some legends said that, this lake is located at a place from where the chariot of the god Indra picked up by Yudhishthira, who is the eldest brother of the Pandava. As a result, Chandra Tal is counted among sacred lakes of India and grabs the attention of lots of Hindu devotees.

Short itinerary for Chandratal Lake trek

Day 1: Manali - Keylong

Arrive at Manali, drive to Keylong via Rohtang pass which is situated at a distance of 115 km. After reaching Keylong, go on short hikes around Keylong. Dinner and overnight stay in the camps in Keylong.

Day 2: Keylong - Batal

After breakfast, drive to Batal from Keylong in the morning. Arrive in Batal for lunch. You will go on an acclimatising hike from here. Return to the camp in the evening. Dinner & overnight stay in the camps of Batal.

Day 3: Batal - Chandratal 

After breakfast, trek to Chandratal from Batal which is an 18 km trek. It will take us about 5-6 hrs, while on this trek you will witness a beautiful view of the Lahaul range, peaks like Minar, Talagiri, Tara Pahar, and Mulkila. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp in Chandratal.

Day 4: Chandratal

The day is for exploring of the surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay in Chandratal.

Day 5: Chandratal - Manali

After breakfast drive for Manali. This is the last day of the trip. Our services will be finished once you reach Manali.
