Spring and Early Summers: During March and April, you get a fine green cover over meadows with red, white and pink rhododendron flowers during the trail. Weather is pleasant and heavy wollens are not required. The snow starts to melt and the meadows covered with small wild flowers.
Autumn (September, October, November) is known for clear weather, brown meadows and clear mountain views. Autumn is generally like Spring, but a few degrees colder.
Winters (December, January, February) are cool during the day but chilling cold at night and you get a white snowy carpet in most part of the trek. The landscape is draped in white and you may witness frozen lakes on the trek. It is important to carry proper clothing in winter as the campsite temperatures are sub zero in winter.
Brahmatal is a round the year trek, but majorly popular as winter and early summer trek. Each season spring, autumn and winter – brings out a different flavour of the trek.
The best season to explore Brahmatal is either winter or in the springs. During winters (December, January, February) weather normally remains clear and panoramic beauty of the surrounding is unmatched. Adequate amount of snow is another reason that this is getting popular in recent years. This is the best time to take this trek for those who want to get the experience of snow trekking.
In Spring (March and April) the trail is bountiful with Rhododendron blossoms while the last patches of snow start melting. The meadows are lush green with pleasant cool climate.
Note: Brahmatal Trek is not preferable during the monsoon months from July and August because of steep slopes and slippery terrain which makes it very difficult to ascend with the rain pouring downwards.
