Inaugurated by the Late Indian prime minister Smt. Indira Gandhi in 1983, Swami Satyamitranand Giri established Bharat Mata Temple. Temple has eight storeys and each story has different theme dedicated to several legends and dieties.
1st Floor - This floor is dedicated to Bharat Mata (Mother India) and has a Bharata Mata statue.
2nd Floor - Named as 'Shoor Mandir', this floor is dedicated to renowned Indian heroes.
3rd Floor - Known as 'Matru Mandir', third floor dedicated to the admiring women of Indian history such as Meera, Savitri, etc
4th Floor - Featuring great saints of different religions in India, this floor called as 'Sant Mandir'.
5th Floor - This Assembly Hall features the wall paintings depicting peacefully co-existence of several religions in India.
6th Floor - Dedicated to Hindu Goddess Shakti, this floor features different forms of Goddess Shakti.
7th Floor - Features all incarnations of Hindu God Lord Vishnu.
8th Floor - Last floor of Bharat Mata Mandir has the shrine of Lord Shiva which was believed to be supreme God.
From the height of 180 feet of all eight floor of Bharat Mata Mandir, visitors can witness a scenic skyline of Haridwar with mountains of Rajaji National Park. There is a lift facility for visiting different floors of the temple.
