UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Uttarakhand

UNESCO is an international organization which is based in Paris city of France and is operated by UN (United Nation). The objective of this specialized agency is to maintain peace and harmony between the nations with the help of collaborating in the field of educational, scientific, cultural reforms, social & human sciences. UNESCO sponsors the projects to secure the world's cultural and natural heritage (World Heritage sites) and to preserve human rights.

Being a small province of India, Uttarakhand proudly holds two heritage sites of UNESCO's and one cultural festival, which is inscribed in the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This festival is known as Ramman which represents the rich heritage of Himalayas.
