Kuari Pass or Lord Curzon Trail is situated in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 4156 mt above sea level, also known as a good winter trek which is passes via famous snow sports destination Auli. Kuari pass connect two valleys of Uttarakhand that is Joshimath & Ghat, also, offers mesmerizing views of some majestic peaks of Himalayas like Nanda Devi (7817 m), Kamet (7756m), Dronagiri (7066 m), Hathi Parvat (6727 m) & Ghori Parvat (6709 m).
This trek is also known as Lord Curzon Trail because Lord Curzon discovered this trail in 1905, after that many trekkers continuously visit this trek every year. This trek can be started from many locations like from Ghat, From Wan via Roopkund & from Joshimath. The view of the twin peaks of the Mt. Nanda Devi is the major attraction of this trek. On the trekking way, we can also see the beauty of Auli meadow, Gurson Bugyal, remote villages, the thick forest, which will be an unforgettable experience in your life.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1Haridwar/Rishikesh to Joshimath/Auli
After reaching to Haridwar or Rishikesh in the morning, our vehicle will be waiting for you at the railway station. Board on the vehicle with yours rucksack & equipment, breakfast & lunch will be served on the way. Full day motorable today that is passes through many well know places which are famous for its beautiful view as well as religious significance like Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Dhari Devi, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Chamoli, Joshimath, & Vishnuprayag. In our route, we also cover all five famous confluences of rivers (Panch Prayag) in Uttarakhand, Alaknanda & Bhagirathi in Devprayag, Alaknanda & Mandakini in Rudraprayag, Pinder and Alaknanda in Karanaprayag, so it’s a long journey today but full of scenic beauty of cultural villages, hills, valleys & mountains. We will reach Joshimath in around 5:30, Night stay in hotel or guesthouse.
Day 2Auli to Gurson Bugyal
On the second day of the trek, taking morning tea & breakfast in beautiful litigants of Auli & start trek to Gurson Bugyal. It is a short trek today because we need environment adaptation; it will take around 4-5 hours to reach. Gurson Bugyal is beautiful meadow surrounds with the amazing greenery all around, overnight stay in camps in Gurson Bugyal.
Day 3Gurson Bugyal to Tali Top
Today’s trek is longer than last day, after breakfast we start to trek Tali Top, it will take around 6 hours to reach there, on the way one can view the beauty of Joshimath valley & snow capped mountain range that will encourage us to go forward. Evening tea & snacks in beautiful Tali Top. Overnight stay in camps here.
Day 4Tali top to Kauri pass and Back to Khulara
Wake up early in the morning because trek is so longer than another day, after having early tea & breakfast we depart to the last point of our trek, Kuari pass. Sunrise view in the morning on snow-covered peaks which make them the golden color of peaks, you take this as an added advantage of this trek. Lunch will be served in the way that is packed, click some memorable picture of snow covered Mountains like Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dronagiri, Hathi Parvat & Ghori Parvat & valleys, this trek offers the best view of Nanda Devi. After exploring Kuari Pass we will return back to Khulara. Dinner & overnight stay in Khulara.
Day 5Khulara to Tapovan to Joshimath
Today is the last day of trekking, trek passes through dense forest of various trees, water streams, remote villages & shepherd huts, takes around 5 hours to reach Tapovan, and near Tapovan there is a source of hot water spring, which is quite amazing and one of the mazor attraction of here. Joshimath is just 15 km drive from Tapovan, our vehicle waiting for you, Depart to Joshimath or Auli.
Day 6Joshimath to Haridwar/Rishikesh
On the early morning, we depart to Rishikesh/Haridwar via many beautiful places of Uttarakhand, the road will pass side by side of the Alaknanda River up to Devprayag, see Confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi which formed the holy river Ganga, it takes 9-10 hours to reach Rishikesh/Haridwar. Our Trek Programme ends here.
